Welcome Alex Gorelik!

Alex Gorelik is an attorney in Taft’s Government Contracts practice group in the Washington, D.C. office. He focuses his practice on government contracts and construction litigation.

Alex assists clients across different types of industries, including aviation, transportation and logistics, industrial manufacturing, disaster response, information technology (IT) and staffing services to support federal, state, and local governments. He has also successfully represented companies before different agencies, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the Court of Federal Claims, the Federal Circuit, and various state and federal courts.

He has experience in federal contracting at the U.S. Department of the Navy, as a Senior Contracting Officer for the Office of Naval Research (ONR), as well as negotiating and awarding competitive contracts and modifications as part of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs.

Alex spent five years at the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program Office, where he negotiated contracts valued at more than $100 million for aircraft and aircraft-related efforts, performed cost and price analysis, and assisted with the award of an Undefinitized Contract Action (UCA).
