FAA issues AC for the Certification of Light Sport Repairmen

This advisory circular (AC) provides guidance to assist persons in obtaining a repairman
certificate (light-sport) with a maintenance and/or inspection rating, including guidance on the
privileges and limitations of repairman certificates (light-sport) and related requirements. This
AC also provides guidance for training course providers on obtaining the Federal Aviation
Administration’s (FAA) acceptance of light-sport repairman training courses. This is a guidance
document. Its content is not legally binding in its own right and will not be relied upon by the
Department as a separate basis for affirmative enforcement action or other administrative
penalty. Conformity with the guidance document is voluntary only. Nonconformity will not
