Headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, Opener aims to make the dream of flight available for all in an efficient, electrically-powered craft (eVTOL). At AirVenture 2022, they had several human-operated flights.

Run by Kenneth Karklin, Opener is the manufacturer of the BlackFly, an all-electric craft. Founded as SkyKar in 2008, Opener conducted the first human flight of a fixed-wing all-electric VTOL aircraft on October 5, 2011.
